Umbarger Show Feeds has been serving the agricultural community since 1939, giving the company more than eight decades of experience in animal nutrition. Still family-run today (just like Jones Farm Hay & Feed), Umbarger has continued to evolve with the livestock industry while maintaining its focus on producing the freshest, most consistent, high-quality feeds.

In 2021, the company opened a state-of-the-art feed mill in Franklin, Indiana, further strengthening their ability to utilize unique ingredients, producing the specialized feeds for which they have become known. Umbarger describes its product offering as one of the most diverse in the show-feed industry, supported by a proven record of success in the show ring.

We are equally excited to introduce Inukshuk Professional Dog Food, a premium performance nutrition brand created specifically with the needs of active and working dogs in mind.

Inukshuk is produced by Corey Nutrition Company, another family-owned and operated company located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Corey Nutrition has more than 40 years of experience producing commercial fish and pet foods, and Inukshuks science based formulas were developed by the company's in-house laboratory and product-development team.

The story behind Inukshuk is particularly impressive. The food was originally developed to meet the extreme nutritional demands of Canadian sled dogs, working across long distances and harsh Arctic conditions. Those dogs need enormous amounts of usable energy while maintaining body condition, stamina, and overall health.

That challenge became the foundation for a family of nutrient-dense foods now used by working and sporting dogs, of many different breeds and disciplines.

The Science Behind Inukshuk

Another reason we are pleased to bring Inukshuk to Jones Farm is the company's emphasis on both nutrition and manufacturing technology.

Inukshuk uses a proprietary production system called CoreyTEC™, which incorporates several processes designed to create a nutrient-dense, consistent product.

Its vacuum fat-infusion process removes air from the production chamber and allows nutrient-rich oils to penetrate deeply into the kibble rather than simply coating its surface. The company also uses a specialized fine-grind process to create denser kibble and improve the utilization of ingredients. Finally, a freshness-valve packaging system is designed to limit oxygen exposure and help protect fats, vitamins, flavor, and freshness.

Corey Nutrition also manufactures Inukshuk in its own family-owned facility rather than outsourcing production, allowing the company to maintain direct control over formulation, consistency, and quality standards.
